St John is looking for caring and enthusiastic people, 18 years of age and older, to train as first responders for frontline ambulances and as part of the events team.
“Volunteers are essential to the running our ambulance service and cover 28 shifts each week. They support our Paramedics and ensure our ambulances are double-crewed 7 days a week”, says Robbie Blankenstein, St John Nelson Bays Territory Manager.
They are looking for people who can commit to regular duties and ongoing training and courses funded by St John. NZ residency is required. Volunteers will need a full NZ driver’s license which has been clean for at least 12 months.
For more information, head to their volunteer information event at Nelson Ambulance Station, Gloucester Street, Nelson. Date: Thursday, October 25, 7– 8pm. Attendees will learn more about the role and training, have a look through an ambulance and meet ambulance staff.
