For over 30 years the Bridge Valley Adventure Centre has been hosting holiday camps. From humble beginnings the camp now sees over 550 holiday programme campers a year. Each camp is themed, and this term was no exception. This time it was an army-themed camp, with Unimog rides, army-themed training and ‘medic training’ that entertained the 86 kids that attended.
Dave Fraser, general manager of Bridge Valley, has been managing the site with his wife Heidi since 2016 and says, “We love being able to take kids out of their normal every day to experience overnight away from home, adventure-filled activities, team challenges and building friendships in a camp environment.”
Each camp, the children are given the opportunity to enjoy some of Dave and Heidi’s favourite camp activities. These include laser tag, rock climbing, archery, shooting, kayaking and the flying fox. “Without question the favourite activity this camp was the new laser tag activity, putting the always popular rock climbing in second place!” says Dave, “as a special addition, this camp we had helicopter rides with Reid Helicopters on Friday morning, which was a definite camp highlight.”
Spread the love.
