A ‘treasure trove’ of historic photos has been discovered in a discarded photo album last week at the Richmond Hospice Shop.
The small purple album was found amongst donated goods left at the door of the Gladstone Road store in Richmond about two weeks ago. Anete Smith, Store Manager, thinks someone was clearing out the attic and doesn’t realise what they had when they included the album.
“The little album is nothing to look at but the photos inside are wonderful,” she says.
“The first photos are over a hundred years old and we have pictures following the life of whole families.”
The surnames Nesbit and Flowers appear often and more recent photos like those Anete is holding have the names Wendy, Warren, Jody with their parents Noelene and Peter.
