After almost two years in negotiation Harley Davidson are coming to Nelson. The American bike manufacturer has appointed its newest distributor with Filco Motorcycles now an official dealer.

Dealer principle Dave Filer says he was absolutely wrapt and is aiming at having it all set up in their local Stoke business by the end of October.

We have all been working very hard to make this happen and the feedback we have is that there is a huge gap in the local market for the Harley brand and, in particular, back-up.”

Dave and his team will bring not only factory-trained technicians to the market but a good supply of genuine spare parts and, of course, the very popular Harley Davidson clothing and accessory range. “We now hope we will soon remove that long journey and wait for the Harley owners and they can deal with us on a local level,” says Dave. He is off shortly to the Harley Davidson conference in USA where over 5000 worldwide dealers meet to catch up with the latest developments and Dave is also sending two mechanics over to HQ in Australia to begin their factory training on Harley Davidson.

Harley Davidson is an iconic brand and with Nelson Tasman district having more bikes per head than anywhere in New Zealand we see a very bright future for our bikes,” he says.

Spread the love.
