Over the Easter weekend the Nelson Area Dressage Group held their annual dressage training day with riders of all ages strutting their stuff for the judges.
The morning saw a clinic held with three of the areas more experienced riders and judges demonstrating correct arena craft and showing off some of the upper level movements.
The clinic was extremely well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, both on horseback and on the side lines, with witty comments inducing peals of laughter from the crowd throughout the morning.
Following this, the very hotly contested fancy dress section took place with riders of all ages decking their horses out in all manner of unique costumes. Three combinations took out first equal; Charlotte and Vanessa Baxter, Stephanie Marshall and Hollie Southward, and Amy Wassell.
The afternoon culminated with the competition classes which saw some very high-quality work produced by many combinations. Two of the stand outs were Charlotte Baxter on Edencourt Sheer Delight in the lead rein class B gaining an impressive 74.44%, and Rilee McMeekin on Solly posting 72.12% in the 1B Hack.
Nelson Dressage would like to thank all of the competitors and attendees who made the day a huge success, and our primary sponsor for the day; Suzanne Ingles from the Nelson Saddlery Warehouse.
The Pitt and Moore Nelson Winter Dressage Series commences on April the 29th for anybody interested.

Spread the love.
