On Sunday, November 25, the V8 Escape invites all American classic V8’s, Hot Rods, Muscle cars and Classic sports cars on their annual cruise, departing the WOW carpark at 10.30am.

“It’s full of action, a great few hours and lots of fun for those with classic cars,” says organiser Ross Hurley.

It was four years ago when Ross, together with his mate Ian Barker, decided to invent a run and alternate donating the proceeds between the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Chopper and the Nelson Hospice.

With up to 60 cars expected to take part, there’re also prizes for best dressed ladies in 60’s retro gear.

The 120km route will include raffles held at various spots, refreshments and lunch before returning to Eddyline Bar & Pizzeria for prize-giving, and two hours of live music by popular local band the Dixie Prix.

Included in the evening’s entertainment is the auction of a Richie McCaw-signed rugby ball.

On rain or shine, it costs $20 per car with proceeds this year going to Nelson Hospice and registration open in the WOW carpark from 9.30am.

Spread the love.
