Matt McCrorie – Tasman Pine was one of the companies directly affected by the Pigeon Valley forest fire, owning 60% of the land that was destroyed by the blaze. While the damage is still being assessed, Tasman Pine COO Steve Chandler says the plantation lost was one of the ‘most productive.’

Ruth Bagnall, Marie Crooks, Bernadette Storer and Joan McKeowan are four of the members of the Stoke/Tahunanui Inner Wheel group who have given up their time to donate toiletry packs to Civil Defence, aiding those who were evacuated from their homes during the Pigeon Valley forest fire.
