This year’s Richmond A&P Show organisers are shaping the show up to deliver an even more impressive event than before, on the 21st and 22nd of November.
While most A&P Shows around the country have been cancelled, the Richmond show is not only going ahead with the traditional favourites they have new exhibitions.
“After such a difficult year we are looking forward to welcoming back people from across the region for what promises to be a great show”, says show president Ted Ford.
New events include an excavation operator competition and equestrian, mounted games.
“Both of these events will be big crowd-pleasers with young and old alike. We are so fortunate to have spacious showgrounds to be able to include these additional events,” Ted says.
This will be the 126th time the Nelson A&P Show has been held and it will continue to showcase the traditional attractions including livestock, poultry, horticulture, baking, handcrafts, and photography.
Last year’s Doggy Fashion Show proved to be a real hit and is on the programme again, so make sure you enter your canine companion in Saturday’s event for a chance to win some prizes.
Or the kids can enter their lambs in the Fancy Dress Pet Lamb competition which has been a favourite since its inception in the 1970s, although organisers would love to see even more lambs this year.
“It’s encouraging that, despite the impact of Covid 19, local business confidence has held up with businesses wanting to be part of the popular trade displays again”, Ted says.
For 2020 only there are no presale tickets available, but the gate ticket prices have been reduced.
