It is nearly that time on the calendar when Queen St closes its road for the annual Richmond Market Day on Friday, December 28.
Market regulars come from far and wide to attend, Richmond businesses bring their specials out onto the street to barter their bargains, and music and entertainment is provided for the whole family.
Richmond Unlimited marketing and events coordinator, Charlotte Bidlake, says people from all over the country register for the event.
“It is not just local stalls, we have loads of travelling stalls attending as well. We have a real mixture of goods; like locally-made artisan products, heaps of food stalls, plant stalls, seasonal berries, garden art and sculpture stalls, to name a few. And the shops on Queen St come out with some really great deals as well!”
Last year over 120 guest stalls were registered plus an awesome turnout of Queen St’s own business stalls, – combined with all the sunshine – Charlotte says it was a huge success.
“It was massive last year, I think the biggest one we have ever had.”
She is urging other stall holders to secure their place at the market by registering for the event.
“It is not too late to register.” Contact Charlotte Bidlake at info@richmondunlimited.co.nz or call 5444898.
