Blake and Raiden Hearne at the speedway’s ‘Shine and Show’ day, held on Saturday, October 20. The display was part of the Speedway’s 50th birthday celebrations at Lansdowne Rd. Around 20 historic cars were on display alongside a variety of speedway vehicles – stockcars, saloons, open wheelers and sidecars – at the free entry show.
After a spectacular night of racing on the Saturday, a large party of past and present members filed in for the club’s formal dinner held on Sunday night at Trailways. The Nelson Speedway’s next meeting is Saturday, November 3, with the annual Coca-Cola fireworks display from 6pm – 9:30pm.
