Rural Women St Arnaud are a sensational group of eleven women who are committed to helping their local and wider community in various ways.
This year alone they have managed to raise and donate over $6000 for local organisations, including Nelson Tasman Hospice, Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter and the Lake Rotoiti School Pool Project. They have put together gift boxes for local emergency services, care bags for the hospice and local schools, and hampers for Casting for Recovery participants. They have organised and catered dinners for Fulton Hogan and the WW1 Vintage Truck Rally, and they have held a Trash and Treasure sale.
All of this is done with hard work and dedication from all the members, and a lot fun and friendship along the way.
Group member Marg Anderson says, “I am so lucky to have such a wonderful team, who are so committed to giving back to our community and surrounding area. While we are doing these projects we certainly have a lot of fun on the way, which is key to our success.”
The local community holiday home owners have been very keen supporters of what they do, says Marg, “which makes our community very unique.”
The locals say they are an impressive group of women, with kind hearts, massive energy and absolute dedication to their cause that are vital to the community.
