Living on the other side of the globe hasn’t prevented Lucy Lithgow from coming to the aid of her father who suffers from Parkinson’s disease.
“My way of helping is raising funds for research because that goes worldwide for progressive medication,” says Lucy.
On Saturday, August 11 at 7pm, Lucy will host what she says is the inaugural Parkinson’s NZ Charity Ball at the Grand Mercure in Monaco with music by live band Urban.
“This is my way of dealing with it. I’m doing something about it that will help other people.”
Lucy’s father, 63-year-old Brian Spruels, was diagnosed with the disease 7 years ago and Lucy says being such a “funny and switched on” man it has been “gutting” to see the disease progress over time, inspiring her to contribute financially toward medical advancement.
Tickets for the ball are $80 per person and include welcoming bubbles and a meal of either beef, duck or vegetarian options.
